J. Helen Kwon, M.D. was educated at the School of Medicine at Kyungpook National University in Korea. After internships and residencies in both Korea and the United States (Fairview General Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation), Dr. Kwon practiced pediatrics in Cleveland for twenty-five years at St. John Westshore, including a term as Chief, Department of Pediatrics at that hospital.

In response to the health needs of an immediate family member, Dr. Kwon trained in Medical Acupuncture. She then worked for years in the area of acupuncture and pain management. Dr. Kwon believes in neurolinguistic programming treatments as well as the philosophy of neural treatment.

During that time, Dr. Kwon also became interested in Medical Aesthetics, the care and treatment of the skin in relation to general health and anti-aging of the skin, including the use of denervation (Botox) and fillers for cosmetic corrections.

Dr. Kwon joined Preventive Medicine Group in 2009. At that time, she expanded her practice to adults as well as children. Like all of the physicians at Preventive Medicine Group, Dr. Kwon is using a nutritional, natural healing approach in working with healthy people who want to enhance their health and people with health issues seeking a complementary alternative approach. Because she is not treating the condition as much as she is treating the underlying biochemistary, Dr.Kwon sees a wide range of conditions in men and women and patients of all ages. She is interested in autism, Tourette’s, OCD, and depression in children and adults. Her interest in anti-aging includes bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, medical aesthetics and weight management. As a medical acupuncturist, Dr. Kwon’s interest in energy medicine leads her into allergy testing and desensitization using energy medicine and frequency specific micurent for pain management.
